About
II am a Product Developer that loves everything beautiful, from fashion to photography to interior design, and everything in between. I have started my career as a graphic designer and always had a thing for fashion. So much so I transitioned to use my graphic design skills at The Bay's Fashion office, getting exposed to trend forecasting. When I later become a footwear buyer for HBC, my heart remained true to my passion: understanding trends to transform an idea into a sellable product. With that focus, I went to work as a Footwear Product Developer for a company that supplied for the major private labels, including Sears, HBC, Joe Fresh, American Eagle Outfitters, Wal-Mart and J.C. Penny, among many others.
But I needed to broaden my horizons, so I went to work in trend forecasting for a “WSGN”-like company. That position was really important as it sharpened my skills for cool hunting and trend spotting, transcending the boundaries of clothing, accessories, jewelry, home decor and everything in between.
While I cherished the insights gained in trend forecasting, I missed the hands-on process of creating tangible products for people to use. Leveraging my accumulated knowledge and skills, I ventured into entrepreneurship and establish my own business. Drawing from inspiration from my past involvement in a fish skin footwear line for The Bay, where I developed an affinity for the sustainability and uniqueness of the fish leather, I launched MIMO, “Meaningful Ideas for Meaningful Objects”, a jewelry line that embodies my passion for craftsmanship and sustainability.
Adding a festive touch to my journey, my most recent role as an Associate Christmas Product Developer Manager for Canadian Tire, allows me to bring joy and warmth into customers’ homes during the holiday season. It gives me the opportunity to develop many decor commodities and it encapsulates my commitment to translating trends into joyful products to the customer.
